While we are on a campground at

Neureichenau (DE) to hike next day to the tripoint ATCZDE, we made this night a small after dinnerhike in the woods behind the campground.

Here we walked into a stunning and pitoresque bordercrosspoint on ATDE border.

Schrattenberg - Valtice (ATCZ)

Just behind Valticea (CZ), we passed this bordercrossing and found a twin BM, with the different numbers: X-17/6 and X-18.

Neureichenau (ATDE)

At the bordercrossing between Austria and Germany (ATDE) at the Dreiseßelbergstraße, I found 2 BM's on the rightside of the road, while driving from DE to AT.

Feldkirch - Büchel (ATCH)

The bordercrossing Feldkirch - Büchel is situated on the Rheinbrücke near the most Westernpoint of Austria, the tri-point of At, Ch and Li, BM no. 135.

Wurzenpass (ATSLO)

In june 2024 we drove the Wurzenpass from Austria to Slovenia and passe the border on top of the pass.

Besides a bordercrossingsline (orange/red in the picture) I found 2 bordermarkers (no. 227 and 228).

The border was established by the

Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye (1919), just after WW I.

Westernmost point of Austria

The Westernmostpoint of Austria is situated at bordermarker no. 136, in the river Rhine near Feldkirch. There is on maps only the number 136, there's no physical bordermarker!

Nr. 136 actually is the marker of the 3i-point of Austria, Lichtenstein and Schweiz (ATCHLI) as well.

Krumbachbrücke

The hike to the southernmost point of Germany actually was our last hike. On the way back to our apartment we passed the Landesgrenz for Vorarlberg and Tirol. This Landesborder even was nummerd with BM # 116.
